Privacy Policy

Avsar connects students in Delhi NCR with in-person internships. To do that we have to hold some information about you. This page explains exactly what, why, and who else can see it. It is written to be read, not to be skipped.
What we collect
When you create an account and fill in your profile:
- Your name, email address and WhatsApp number
- Your date of birth — we need it to know whether you are under 18
- Your city and locality, so we can show you internships near you
- Your school or college, your course, and what year you are in
- When you are free, and how many hours a week you can commit
- The kinds of work that interest you, and anything you tell us you are good at
- Your resume, if you choose to upload one — this is optional
If you are under 18, we also collect your parent or guardian's name and phone number, and a record that they agreed to you taking up an internship.
Why we collect it
- To show you internships that actually suit where you live and when you are free
- To pass your details to an organisation when you apply to them
- To contact you about an application you have made
- To put your name on a certificate when you complete a placement
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who can see it
- You. Your profile is yours. No other student can see it.
- An organisation you apply to. When you tap Apply, that organisation can see your profile. Organisations you have not applied to cannot.
- The Avsar team, to run the service and help when something goes wrong.
This is enforced in the database itself, not just in the app — a request for another student's details is refused at the source.
If you are under 18
We ask for a parent or guardian's name and phone number, and for confirmation that they know about and agree to the internship. Organisations that do not host students under 18 are hidden from you, so you are not turned down after applying.
A parent or guardian can contact us at hello@avsar.example at any time to see what we hold about their child, correct it, or have it deleted.
Certificates are public by design
A certificate can be checked by anyone holding its code — that is the point of it. The verification page shows the name, the organisation, the role and the date. It does not show your phone number, your email, your address or your date of birth. Codes cannot be guessed or listed; a wrong code simply returns nothing.
Where it is stored, and for how long
Your information is stored with Supabase, on servers in India. Resumes are kept in private storage and are only opened through a link that expires within a minute.
We keep your profile while your account is open. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your profile, your applications and your resume. Certificates already issued stay verifiable, because a certificate nobody can check is worthless — but you can ask us to revoke one.

- Show you everything we hold about you
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Delete your account and your data
- Stop contacting you
Email hello@avsar.example and we will action it. You can also edit or clear most of your profile yourself at any time.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and tell you by email if the change matters.
